The merge of St. Peter Celestine and Queen of Heaven schools gives promise that our new school will be distinguished as the premier Catholic grade school in Cherry Hill. Our principal, Camille Forrest, will undoubtedly fulfill that pledge as she brings to Resurrection her outstanding academic and administrative credentials, as well as an unwavering spiritual commitment.
Mrs. Forrest, became principal of St. Peter Celestine in 1992. She has been recognized nationally for her achievements. Among her honors: the 2001 National Distinguished Principal award (presented by the National Association of Elementary School Principals and the U.S. Department of Education) and the 2001 National Catholic Education Association Distinguished Principal award. Mrs. Forrest has served on numerous committees and boards within the Camden Diocese and has been consistently involved with educational seminars, forums and summits. She is also listed in Who’s Who among American Teachers and Who’s Who in American Education. Mrs. Forrest, a native of Virginia, has an M.S. from Georgian Court College, and an M.S. and B.S. from Radford College.
Speaking of the wonderful opportunity that awaits us, Mrs. Forrest says, “Both our communities believe strongly in Catholic education and have worked hard to offer our children a quality, faith-based education. As I work with parents from both communities, I find a common commitment, energy, faith and, above all, love for our children. I am very excited to be leading our newly merged school.”
Mrs. Forrest continues, “This is a year to dream. And as Pope John Paul II told us, ‘The future starts today. We need you to make our new school a success. You have the opportunity to lay the foundation of this new venture. Hold your faith strong and walk with us!”
